“Mr. Bungee” Hat, Spats, and Gloves

Hat, spats, and gloves designed by Debra Kim Sevigny for A New Brain at Barrington Stage Company. Mr. Bungee’s crown is made of Worbla, a hard thermoplastic that can be shaped with heat. The webbed toes of the spats and the finger extensions on the gloves are made of Fossshape, a felt-like thermopastic that hardens and shrinks when exposed to heat. These elements were then covered in spandex and sponge-painted to create texture and definition.

“Christmas Goose” Foam Costume

Class project designed and built in collaboration with classmate Kate Victoria Repp. Inspired by the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as well as the Cratchit family feast in A Christmas Carol, this roast goose mascot costume was patterned off a padded dress form and assembled out of 6mm EVA foam, covered in spandex, and sponge painted for texture. The goose was then garnished with a bed of tulle “lettuce”, felt orange slices, and cranberries and crowned with a bouquet of herbs.
